Positive Stress

Hey Guys

Today, I want to talk about good side of Stress today- which many of us don't acknowledge and address it properly. Apart from that it is costing our economy billions of dollar every year.It is a very interesting topic as it affects every bio-chemistry of our body and every individual in one-way or other.

Before you go further please do a small survey on yourself and count where do you find yourself-

  • Huge

  • Moderate

  • Low

I will talk only about Positive Stress and changing our response towards it. First of all no one can be stress free- it is part and parcel of our life. Stress is a natural response to deal with situations and we human have been doing it for centuries. Every one has different way of dealing stress for example (a rollercoaster ride can be a fun for some and at the same time scary experience for others). What we need to understand is how to manage and process the negativity and convert into an organic thought.

Our Ancestors- the very hunter gatherers: wisely used the cycle of :fight & flight “by hunting and gathering food for families and relaxing to normalize the hormones back to its original state. We are doing exactly opposite nowadays; the hormones are always on run, predominantly to blame our 24x7 lifestyle, stressful jobs, relationship and large portion are to blame ourselves (as an individual). We are constantly under pressure to perform well in every area of our lives, much of the result of our own expectation.

We are bombarded with Stress (Physical, Mental & Physiological) every hour in our life be it a media, Newspapers, magazine, Television somehow indirectly giving us stress to our subconscious mind and it imbeds there. Information about terrorism, plane crash and your favourite team loosing the game etc. These are all the indirect signs....... So my advice is to not watch and read anything unwanted and limit yourself to productive information only.

"Don't rely on machine too much, become one"

We live in a stressful era, possibly the most stressful period humans have ever experienced. It is the biggest issue that modernHumans has to deal with and the biggest cause of illness some of which even lead to death. It is the issue that costs companies’ and our economies billions.

So what I want to emphasis today, changing the whole concept about being stress. I will give you an example-There was a research showed in America. A group of people who believed stress is bad for them and the other group take it positively and both group pretty much performed same task in their life. The group who believed stress is bad for them died earlier compare to latter. So it shows how by only remove negative thinking can work.

Look!!! I don't want to go into the technicality about how stress effects our hormones, cortisol, Adrenals, Thyroid, Hypothalamus and infact the whole Endocrine system and role of Adrenals and cortisol related to weight gain and sleep patterns etc. But what I want to emphasis on one special hormone know as "Oxytocin” also know as Cuddle hormone. This hormones has various functions, helps during pregnancy, labor, breastfeeding and intimacy .It also enhances social support, caring and create resilience. So the whole idea is during stress episode, speak to someone close, family friends etc. share your feeling and express, don't hold back and you will feel the benefits straight away.

  • Is Stress affecting your personal, social life or relationship?

So, the moment of truth is - Don't run away from stress, understand it accept it, acknowledge and work with it. It is very essential to have a relaxing "ME" time for yourself. Sit down and relax and evaluate your day process everything in your mind and come out with positive outlook. Let your fear, ego and guilt vanish.

Have a thought of forgiveness, compassionate, love and appreciation for yourself and others. If nothing works always remember take a deep breath and feel how lucky you are and appreciate every little things in life.
